Independent Critical Review & Discussion

A fresh perspective.
A clearer next step.

You’ve put thought into the work. Now give it the benefit of a considered, independent second look.

Prepared reviews for developed ideas, plans, proposals, presentations, arguments and substantial written work — before your next important step.

Not automatic agreement.
A perspective worth considering.

01The perspective

Being close to the work can make some things harder to see.

You know what you intended. Your audience only knows what comes across.

You know what you intended. You know the background, the assumptions behind your choices and the route you took to reach the current version. Someone encountering the work for the first time does not have that same internal context.

That difference matters. A proposal may feel complete because its reasoning is familiar to its creator. A presentation may feel clear because the speaker already knows what every point is meant to imply. An idea may appear settled because the same options have been considered repeatedly from the same angle.

Independent Critical Review & Discussion creates a deliberate opportunity to examine the work before an audience, decision-maker, client, lecturer, colleague, investor, team or other stakeholder becomes the first person to raise the difficult question.

The objective is not simply to collect feedback. It is to gain a clearer view of what is strong, what is uncertain and what deserves further thought.

02What can be reviewed

For work with
something to examine.

The format can vary. What matters is that your idea, document or decision has enough substance for a meaningful review. Here are some useful starting points.

01

Ideas & Concepts

Developed business ideas, project concepts, programme ideas, personal initiatives and other concepts that would benefit from serious examination before additional time, money or effort is committed.

02

Plans & Proposals

Plans, proposals and recommendations that need another perspective before they are presented, submitted, adopted or used to support an important decision.

03

Presentations & Pitches

Presentation content or pitch material where the message, reasoning and overall case should make sense to someone who does not already share your background knowledge.

04

Arguments & Positions

A case, recommendation, position or line of reasoning that should be exposed to serious questions and competing interpretations before it is relied upon.

05

Substantial Written Work

Reports, articles, guides, concept notes and other idea-based material where the thinking, organisation and overall effect deserve a careful independent reading.

06

Decisions & Options

Situations involving several possible approaches, trade-offs or choices where an independent discussion may help surface considerations that deserve more attention.

Student-created work may be reviewed where the feedback is consistent with academic-integrity requirements. Assessed work is never completed on a student’s behalf.

The approach

Careful preparation.
Not a checklist.

Purpose-awareAudience-awareIndependentPreparedDiscussion-led

The review is not a proofreading pass and it is not a checklist applied mechanically to every submission. It considers the work as a whole and asks whether it is doing what it is meant to do, where the audience may hesitate, what may require stronger support or explanation, and which questions, alternatives or unresolved points deserve attention.

The emphasis changes with the material. A short business concept does not need to be approached in exactly the same way as a detailed proposal. A presentation may raise different concerns from a substantial written document. The review therefore adapts to the purpose, stage, audience and nature of the work.

The detailed internal review framework and analytical criteria are not published. What the client receives is the benefit of that process: an independent perspective, clear observations, useful questions and a prioritised sense of what may merit further consideration.

THE INTENDED SHIFT

From “I think this is ready.”
To “I know what deserves another look.”

A useful review does not require finding something wrong. If the work holds up well, that is a legitimate finding too.

03The reviews

The right depth
for your next step.

Three levels of review. The same thoughtful attention.
The difference is the scope, time for discussion and depth of written feedback.

Advance preparation: Advance independent review.

Discussion of the main questions, observations and areas that deserve attention.

Best suited to: Ideas, shorter documents and early-stage work where the main need is to understand what stands out, what may be missing and what deserves attention next.

03 / Review

In-Depth

The fullest examination offered.

TT$750per review

For substantial, complex or especially important work where you want the most extensive level of examination available, more room for discussion and a detailed written diagnostic.

Advance preparation: Most extensive advance independent review offered.

Broader examination of how the major parts of the work interact and where the highest-priority concerns lie.

Best suited to: Substantial proposals, complex plans, important presentations, longer written material or work where the stakes justify the most comprehensive level of scrutiny offered.

Every review is prepared in advance. Word counts are working limits, not automatic acceptance of material at any complexity. Larger, unusually technical or complex work should be discussed before booking.

A LITTLE GUIDANCENot sure where to start?Find a starting point

Use the guide below to identify a starting point. The final scope and package are always confirmed in conversation, especially for complex material.

04The process

Prepared before
we ever speak.

The session is only one part of the service. Your material is examined beforehand, so the conversation can focus on what the review has uncovered.

Begin a booking conversation

Voice or video.
One-to-one, by agreement.

  1. 01

    Enquire & confirm suitability

Briefly explain what you want reviewed, its purpose, approximate length and current stage. This allows the scope, most suitable package and expected timing to be confirmed before payment.

  2. 02

    Submit & secure the booking

Provide the agreed material and any context needed to understand the intended audience or outcome. A 50% non-refundable downpayment is required before substantive review work begins.

  3. 03

    Independent advance review

The material is reviewed before the session. This preparation is a core part of the service and allows the eventual discussion to be specific, considered and focused on the issues that matter most.

  4. 04

    Review session

We meet one-to-one by voice or video. WhatsApp, Zoom or another suitable platform may be used depending on what suits the client and what is appropriate for the review. The remaining 50% must be paid before the session takes place.

  5. 05

    Written feedback & next steps

You receive the written component included in the chosen package and decide what, if anything, to reconsider, clarify, support, revise or develop. The final judgement and final decisions remain yours.

A thoughtful match

For people who want
more than reassurance.

A STRONG FIT

You want the work examined,
not simply praised.

  • You have already developed the idea or material enough for meaningful review.
  • You want another perspective before presenting, submitting, deciding or investing further effort.
  • You are willing to consider questions or weaknesses that may not have been obvious from inside the work.
  • You value considered feedback even when the conclusion is that some parts already hold up well.
A DIFFERENT NEED

You need someone else
to take ownership of the work.

  • You only want reassurance or automatic agreement.
  • You want assessed academic work completed for you.
  • You require legal, financial, medical, investment, psychological or other regulated professional advice.
  • You need specialist certification that technical claims are correct.

05The details that matter

BOOKING & PAYMENT

50% to begin.
50% before the session.

The 50% downpayment is non-refundable once the booking is confirmed. It reserves review time and allows substantive preparation to begin. The remaining balance is due before the session.

Cancellations, rescheduling & refunds

Downpayment

The required 50% downpayment is non-refundable once the booking has been confirmed. It secures the review and allows preparation to begin.

Amounts paid beyond the downpayment

Where additional payment has been made and the service has not yet been fully provided, any refundable amount will depend on the stage reached and the work already completed.

If the reviewer cannot provide the agreed service

If circumstances on the reviewer's side prevent the agreed service from being completed, an appropriate refund or alternative arrangement will be discussed in light of the work already completed.

Rescheduling

Rescheduling is different from cancellation. Reasonable notice should be given. Late submission of material may require the session to be moved so that the advance review is not rushed or compromised.

What the service does — and does not do

The service can

  • question the work from an independent perspective
  • identify areas that deserve further consideration
  • raise likely questions, concerns or alternative viewpoints
  • help clarify which issues deserve priority
  • provide written findings at the level included in the chosen package

The service does not

  • make decisions on the client's behalf
  • guarantee approval, funding, marks, publication, sales, investment, acceptance or business success
  • provide regulated professional advice
  • certify specialist technical accuracy
  • include proofreading, copy-editing or rewriting unless separately agreed as a different service
Privacy, ownership & confidentiality

Submitted material and discussion content are treated as private and used for the purpose of providing the requested review. Material is not intentionally shared with third parties without permission except where disclosure is legally required.

You retain ownership of the material you submit. The internal review method, templates and analytical framework remain the reviewer's intellectual property. Feedback provided to you may be used in developing your own work.

Clients should not submit confidential, restricted or third-party information they are not authorised to share. Sessions are not recorded unless both parties agree beforehand.

06Before you enquire

A few things
worth knowing.

Practical answers before you enquire.

Ask another question
Which package should I choose?

Choose Essential when the material is shorter or earlier-stage and you mainly want the most important observations, questions and priorities identified, together with a concise one-page point-form takeaway. Choose Plus when the work is more developed and you want greater depth plus a fuller written review. Choose In-Depth when the material is substantial, important or complex enough to justify the most extensive review and a detailed written diagnostic.

Can I submit more than the stated word limit?

Possibly, but it should be discussed before booking. The published limits are working limits, and complexity matters as well as word count. Material that is substantially longer or more complex than initially disclosed may require a revised scope, additional fee or rescheduling.

Is the review session a voice call or a video call?

Either. The format is agreed based on what suits the client and what makes sense for the review. WhatsApp, Zoom or another suitable platform may be used. The platform is simply the meeting method; the service itself is the prepared review and discussion.

When does the review begin?

After the scope, package and timing have been confirmed and the 50% non-refundable downpayment has been received.

When is the remaining balance due?

The remaining 50% must be paid before the review session takes place.

Will I definitely be told that something is wrong?

No. The review is not designed to manufacture problems. If something holds up well under examination, that is a valid finding. The purpose is to identify what genuinely deserves attention.

Do you rewrite or edit the work for me?

Not as part of this service. The purpose is independent critical review and discussion. Proofreading, copy-editing or rewriting would only occur if separately agreed as a different service.

Can student work be reviewed?

Yes, where the feedback is consistent with academic-integrity requirements. The service does not write assessed work, fabricate sources, provide prohibited answers or complete an assignment on a student's behalf.

Are results guaranteed?

No. The service provides an independent analytical perspective. It cannot guarantee funding, approval, publication, higher marks, sales, investment, acceptance, business success or any other external result.

How should I prepare before enquiring?

You do not need a formal brief before making first contact. It helps to know what the material is, approximately how long it is, what it is intended to achieve, who the intended audience is and whether you are working toward a particular deadline.
